Cheeseboards and Charcuterie Board Care
These boards were finished by applying 3-4 layers of Howard’s Cutting Board Oil: https://www.howardproducts.com/product/cutting-board-oil/
The oil was followed by 3-4 layers of Howard’s Butcher Block Conditioner: https://www.howardproducts.com/product/butcher-block-conditioner/
You can either use these oils or just buy a food-grade mineral oil and re-oil your board every 6 months, or when you believe it is starting to dry out.
These are meant for displaying charcuterie items only, not for cutting or chopping.
Hand-wash only with a 1:1 ratio of vinegar and water. Do not put in a dishwasher and do not scrub. Do not allow it to soak in water in the sink, keep it dry until it is time to clean.
You can research best practices on oiling and maintaining wood utensils in the kitchen. Here’s my preferred method, from Basics with Babish: https://basicswithbabish.co/basicsepisodes/kitchencare
